Privacy Policy
SayQuote is an app that helps contractors create estimates, invoices, credit memos, and expense records, and use AI to turn job descriptions and uploaded plans into line-item pricing. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we handle, why, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at support@sayquote.app.
The short version
- We store the business data you create so the app works for you — nothing more than we need.
- When you use an AI feature, the text and documents involved are sent to our AI provider only to produce your result. They are not used to train AI models.
- We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
- You can delete your records at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account entirely.
Information we collect
We collect only what's needed to run your account and provide the features you use:
- Account information — your email address and password (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored in hashed form; we never see them in plain text).
- Business profile — your business name, address, phone, and email as you enter them, which appear on the documents you produce.
- Business records you create — clients, projects, estimates, invoices, credit memos, and expenses, including the names, contact details, addresses, line items, and amounts you enter.
- Documents you upload — house plans, photos, contracts, and PDFs you attach to a client, project, estimate, or invoice.
- Usage counts — a running count of AI actions so we can apply your plan's limits.
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers that build a profile of you.
How your data is stored
Your account and business records are stored in a hosted database and file storage provided by Supabase. Access is protected by database security rules so that each account can only reach its own data, and all traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). The app itself is hosted on Netlify.
AI processing of your descriptions and documents
Some features use artificial intelligence — generating estimate line items from a description, reading uploaded plans or photos to estimate square footage and materials, and the in-app assistant. When you use one of these features, the relevant text and any documents you chose to include are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (the Claude API), which processes them solely to generate your result and return it to you. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, this content is not used to train their models. We send only what a given feature needs, and only when you trigger it.
If you use the optional roof/attic measurement feature, the property address you provide is sent to Google's Geocoding and Solar APIs to look up building footprint data. If you don't use that feature, no address is sent to Google.
How we use your information
- To provide the app and the specific features you use.
- To generate the estimates, invoices, and AI results you request.
- To apply your plan's limits and manage your free trial or subscription.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
- To keep the service secure and working correctly.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information or your business data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. The only parties that process your data are the service providers named above (database/storage, hosting, and the AI and mapping providers), and only to the extent needed to run the features you use.
Data retention and deletion
Your records stay in your account until you delete them. You can delete individual clients, projects, estimates, invoices, credit memos, expenses, and uploaded documents from within the app at any time. To delete your entire account and everything in it, email support@sayquote.app from your account email address and we'll remove it.
Security
We protect your data with encrypted connections, per-account access rules on the database, and reputable infrastructure providers. No online service can promise perfect security, but we work to keep your information safe and to limit access to what each feature requires.
Children
SayQuote is a business tool intended for contractors and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
